Hello my friends!

Today I'm gonna propose to listen a song played by 2 different bands, The Smiths and Nouvelle Vague.

The song belongs to the British band The Smiths (which, by the way, is one of my favorite and I wrote about them in the previouse post) and was released as a single in 1995.

Hoy voy a proponer a escuchar una canción interpretada por 2 bandas diferentes, The Smiths y Nouvelle Vague.
La canción pertenece a la banda británica The Smiths (que, es una de mis favoritas y he escrito sobre ellos en el post de ayer) y fue lanzado como single en 1995.

The second version is a cover, played by Nouvelle Vague ( New Wave), a French cover band formed in 2003.

La segunda versión es  interpretada por Nouvelle Vague (Nueva Ola), un grupo de versiones francesa formada en 2003.

The Song of the Day...24.04.2013

Hello my dears,

You all know that I love music, but there is something that you don't know...that my hubby have the same hobby :-P.

So we try to record covers when we have time and when we are in the mood to play something, even if we don't have a recording studio.

For today I choose to post the song Please, please, please let me get what I want played by The Smiths -an English alternative rock band formed in 1982, in Manchester. The band included the vocalist Morrissey, the guitarist Johnny Marr, the drummer Mike Joyce and the bassist Andy Rourke.

The band was considered by the critics  the most important alternative British rock band and even so, they broke up in 1987 and turned down many offers to reunite.

As a bonus I post the cover of this song, played by me and my hubby. I'm sorry for the quality of the video, but..please take in consideration the fact that we tried.

Hello my dears!

Finally I have internet connection so I'm gonna try to update with your late posts and to continue writing on my blog.

For today I'm gonna present you a wonderful song played by Chris Rea and it's dedicated to my sweet little niece Julia :). She flew from Singapore to visit us, even if she has only 11 months. She is a perfect, beautiful girl, with big blue eyes and she is very curious to try everything. She changed my world, my perspective...she changed me :).

It's funny how a little person has such a strong impact!

The Songs of the Day...07.03.2013

Hello everybody! Salut a tous! Hola a todos!

Two days ago, 08:09 a.m. and me, in a big hurry to get to work.

 I'm supposed to start to work at 08:30 a.m, but somehow I didn't hear the alarm clock, so the only solution was to call a cab.

Before to call, I had the feeling that the taxi operator couldn't find me very quickly a cab, in order to arrive in time to the office. And yea...I was right.

So I start to look for one by myself, in the street, in the Taxi station...but no luck.

As never before, that morning, I saw only one available cab, mine, sent after 15 minutes by the taxi operator. I felt like I was in the twilight....so inspired of this incident, I  post for today 2 songs that implies cabs/ taxi :-D.

The first song is performed by Vanessa Paradis  and it's name is Joe le Taxi (Joe, the taxi driver) a French song released in 1988.

The other song's name is Historia de taxi (The story of a taxi driver) performed by the Guatemalan singer- songwriter and former basketball player and teacher Ricardo Arjona,   released in 1994.

So I'm gonna ask you: What's your favorite song of these 2? Joe le taxi or Historia de taxi?

Hello my dears!!!

Today I'm in a rocky spirit :) so I'm gonna present you Chop Suey, and no, it's not the dish of American Chinese cuisine,  but it's the System of a Down's song :).

System of a Down is an Armenian American rock band formed in 1994, in Southern California and it currently consist of  Daron Malakian (guitar, vocals), Serj Tankian (lead vocalist, keyboards, rhythm guitar), Shavo Odadjian ( bass, background vocals) and John Dolmayan (drums).

Chop Suey is the first single from System of a Down' s second album ( "Toxicity"), released in September 2001 and earned the band its first Grammy nomination. 

Serj Tankian, the lead vocalist, is also a songwriter, composer, poet, record producer and political activist.

Tankian has taken a stance supporting animal rights and in July 2009 he signed a PETA petition against the slaughtering methods of chickens in KFC slaughterhouses.

Hello my dears!

I hope all of you are great and happy that very soon will be spring :)!

I'm still recovering after a very bad flue, so that's  why I've missed so long from blogosphere.

I can't wait to read all that you've posted till this moment and to tell my opinion :).

I want to present you today a band from Canada, Bedouin Soundclash and I hope you'll love it. They play reggae and ska. The band formed in 2001, when it's members attended Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

The song that I want to share with you it's called Brutal Hearts and it's performed ft. Coeur de pirate (Beatrice Martin), a Canadian singer- songwriter.

Hello my dear friends!

I'm so happy that  January ended, so basically we have 28 days of winter :)

I like winter and snow but only  if I'm in the mountains to a chalet , in vacation!!!

Winter in the city sucks because the snow melt very quickly and become mud, everything is grey, the streets, the clouds...our state of mind.

I heard that January is the most busy and depressive month of the year and I must admit that it's true... in my case.  A lot of work, a lot of things to be updated, a lot of expectations, a cloudy cold weather and the next vacation being so far away make people feel down.

So in order to cheer you up I post some beautiful spring and summer photos and a song that take us to an imaginary trip to  Ipanema beach. I'm talking about Girl from Ipanema (Garota de Ipanema), played by  Astrud Gilberto,  Stan Getz and Joao Gilberto. This song was performed by different artists, but this version (recorded in 1964) became an international hit, reaching number five in the United States pop chart, number 29 in the United Kingdom, and charting highly throughout the world. It's played in bossa nova style.

It's performed by Perishers a Swedish indie rock band formed in 1997 and it seems that many songs of these guys was used in TV series as The O.C., Veronica Mars, One Tree Hills, Kyle XY and so on.

Trouble Sleeping was played in Kyle XY, The O.C. and in a promotional spot for Grey's Anatomy.

Hello my dears but I think it's more appropriate to say Bonjour mes chers amis/ amies!!!

I've discovered couple days ago a song very interesting, it's in French and it's played by Superbus, a French band formed in 1999. The band's name came from the Latin word superbus which means "proud".

Till now they released 5 albums..Aeromusical (2002), Pop'n'Gum (2004), Wow (2006) Lova, Lova (2009) and Sunset (2012).

Hello my friends and Happy New Year!!!

In 2013, I wish to all of you to love a little bolder, laugh a little louder, dream to greater things, trust that your wishes will be fulfilled, colored your world in bright colors and live your life in the rhythm of music!

I choose to present you today the unique, the one and only Louis Armstrong, an American jazz trumpeter and singer born in August 4th, 1901 in New  Orleans, Louisiana. Armstrong had a very charismatic stage presence and a special voice and he shifted the focus of the music from collective improvisation to solo performance.
